We will be keeping our Holiday / Fun Activities page updated with any activity / event that we see in the local area that could be fun, educational, interesting (and a good time filler!)  Please remember we are not recommending or endorsing the activities, just letting you know of some of the things that are available to take part in locally.

Dare to Dream - February Half Term Holiday Club

This half term the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum has plenty to keep your kids entertained:

  • Playful Self-Portraits is a week long arty adventure, packed full of different craft workshops, teaching specialist art skills to help you to create unique and wonderful self-portraits. Running from Saturday 18 - Saturday 25 February (excluding Sunday 19) from 10.30am - 3.30pm.
  • Ignite imagination and creativity in the Sketching Masterclass. You and your children will explore the Face to Face exhibition alongside a member of the Herbert's Learning Team, who will assist you and your children as you delve into the wonderful world of drawing. Children will have the opportunity to expand their sketching skills and learn new techniques using a variety of art materials. Best of all, their masterpieces can all be taken home with them! Come along on Monday 20 February from 10.30am - 12.30pm and 1.30pm - 3.30pm.
  • Your Face is a Masterpiece! Yes, you read that right! Transform your face into a work of art, as the Herbert's skilled face painters use iconic art movements to make you look like a painted portrait. Available on Wednesday 22 February from 11.00am - 1.00pm and from 2.00pm - 3.30pm.

Coventry Transport Museum has a brilliant list of energy powered delights ready and waiting for you and yours this half term: 

  • On Your Marks, Get Set - Balloon! Come along and create a car that runs on balloon power - make your racer than fuel it by inflating the balloon. Release it and watch it go! Air pressure in the balloon races your car across the floor - so come and create your Balloon Powered Car
  • Fast... Faster... Fastest! Complete the Supersonic Family Trail and learn all about speed in the Supersonic Exhibition 
  • Who knew that a drinking cup would make an awesome hot rod racer? In this experiment, you'll construct a simple and fun racer that converts potential energy into kinetic energy to create your very own Hot Rods: Racing Cup.  
  • Get creative using simple household items and your wind up spool racer will be racing across the room in no time. They are small, cut and lots of kinetic fun!

Have a look around Sgt. Bilko's Vintage Emporium at Fargo Village this February for some brilliant deals. The store is a treasure trove of wonderful and wacky vintage treats. Ranging from DVDs and mugs to framed posters and Top Trumps and from Dr Who to Star Wars, it's an experience not to be missed!

The Belgrade Theatre has an exciting programme of events and activities to keep families entertained over the holidays:

  • Stage adaptation of Eric Idle’s The Quite Remarkable Adventures of the Owl and the Pussycat to make its world premiere at the Belgrade Theatre from Saturday 18 February to Saturday 4 March. The Belgrade are also offering a 20% discount (excluding 21 February). Use the code: BONG20
  • Audiences will go wild for the touring production of Michael Morpurgo’s Running Wild on the Main Stage from Wednesday 22 – Saturday 25 February
