St. Giles Junior School

Welcome Messages

Welcome to St. Giles Junior School; I hope you will find this website informative and helpful in discovering more about our school. We pride ourselves on having community spirit that runs through the school, visitors often comment on the politeness and caring attitudes our students display, it’s something we value dearly.

At St. Giles, we are committed to providing the very best education for your children. We believe the purpose each day is to facilitate engagement in learning. We provide children with a high degree of challenge through exciting and engaging lessons, and have a drive towards raising the attainment of all pupils, regardless of their different starting points. Relationships between staff and pupils are excellent, characterised by mutual respect and high expectations of everyone in our community. The school offers a vibrant, broad and balanced curriculum and we work hard to meet the needs of all our pupils.  This positive culture permeates all aspects of school life and the promotion of learning, through the full range of teaching approaches, taking account of the needs of all learners.

At St. Giles, the health, safety, happiness and wellbeing of every pupil is our paramount concern. We listen to our pupils ensuring that they feel safe and enjoy their time in with us. Our continual aim is to offer a rich education to equip children with the skills, knowledge and attitudes to ensure that they are ‘secondary school’ ready.

It is always a pleasure to welcome new parents/carers to our School to see all that is on offer, and we fully appreciate that the choice of school for prospective parents/carers is a very important one. Visits to the School are welcome and any one of the team, including our Head boy and girl, would be happy to show you around and meet to discuss your child’s future education.

We have put some general information about school life under the various headings on the left as well as specific information under the different tabs at the top of the page.

Our Gallery features lots of photos of some of the exciting activities and learning that our children experience at St. Giles and we hope these show that we are a happy and caring school which enables every child to be the very best they can be.

We hope you enjoy finding out about school on our website.  If you would like further information please contact us through the School Office and speak to Mrs Davies who will be delighted to help.
