Holiday and Fun Activities

We will be keeping our Holiday/Fun Activities page updated with any activity/event that we see in the local area that could be fun, educational, interesting (and a good time filler!)  Please remember we are not recommending or endorsing the activities, just letting you know of some of the things that are available to take part in locally.

Here are few things to have a go at to support your learning through the summer holidays, if a printed version would help more, please call the office before Friday 17th July and one will be waiting for you to collect.

A few parents have enquired about some activities to do over the holiday periods to keep younger brains ‘ticking over’. Below are a few links to help out - http://www.bbc.co.uk/education/levels/zbr9wmn

Though if time’s tight, we think that if our students could just read some books over the holiday, it would really help. The link here is a good resource for you to have a look at to get an idea of recommended books.

Take the time to visit our local libraries as well, it’s free and they are often running Reading Challenges. Children receive special rewards each time they finish a book and there's a certificate for everyone who completes the challenge.

This link also takes you to a list of writing competitions, look carefully at the age limits - https://schoolreadinglist.co.uk/competitions-for-children/childrens-writing-competitions/

Don't forget what the holidays are really for - to have some fun, catch up with friends and family, and just relax.
